The Boys Have Names!

We are 21, going on 22 weeks pregnant now, and we made it through quite the set of storms!  I mentioned in my last post that it had been raining for nearly two weeks, and it hasn't really stopped until today. We were hit with Tropical Storm Cindy which brought 4 days and 4 nights of non-stop rain... The yard looks like a jungle... Barry'll tackle that on Tuesday when he's done with an intense weekend of work looking at him.

So back to the boys... I'm really enjoying feeling all the summersaults going on in my belly. Every hour or so, I notice them both dancing in there! Barry has been able to feel them kick a few times too, which is always exciting. I've mentally adjusted to knowing I am going to raise two boys. I've moved off the nervous feelings and primarily feel excited about the new adventure. I'm letting myself bond and feeling ready to meet them.

The boys now have names, but we're keeping them to ourselves for now - not sure if we will share with the world or hold-on to the names until they're born. We're really happy with the names though and believe they're the perfect blend of honoring our loved ones and our style.

Libby has really taken to talking to my belly, which I find incredibly sweet. She likes to say, "Hi brothers. Libby. Big sister." Ryleigh has lost interest now that she knows they're boys, but she does get excited about sitting in the "way back" of the van when the twins arrive.

In preparation news, Barry made a TON of progress on the yard. I'm hoping we can get that project wrapped-up before my BFF arrives in less than 2 weeks! In the nursery, we have curtains up, a new rug on the floor and the first coat of pain on the accent wall. All we have left is to finish the wall, assemble the cribs and then start organizing.

Next up, we'll pull everything down from the attic and sort-through what we have and what we can replace. Right now, we're being spoiled from friends and family sending clothes and gifts. I just don't know what we would do without our tribe!

Work threw me a curve-ball this week with the potential of a new role. Decisions and challenges lie ahead, but not until next year, so taking it one day at a time and enjoying this pregnancy.

And lastly... my stay-cation is swiftly approaching!  I'm taking-off a week from work to celebrate July 4th with the hubby and kiddos, playing for a SUPER long weekend with my BFF and celebrating the twins with a Baby-Q... I am so excited!!!!!

Happy weekend y'all! ((hugs))

Banana Babies

I just had my 20 week ultrasound and check-up with Dr. Medlock and he said, "everything looks perfect."  YAY!  The boys are each the length of a banana and growing right on-track.

While I was at the doctor's office, he asked me if we have started preparing.  I told him that we bought cribs and mattresses and have 4 onesies in the closet. He chuckled and said, "well, you have 17 or fewer weeks to go, I'm sure you'll be ready by then." I went home and updated my to-do list!

First up on the list is to pick names.  I think we've selected one name and we may be close on the second name... I'm hopeful we can make that decision soon so I can make name signs for the boys to hang above their cribs.

The biggest update for this week is that I am starting to feel them both move at one time. They are both "head down" but Baby B is taking up more space than Baby A, so the little guy on the bottom is squished :).  When I'm laying still, I can feel them both squirming at once - a very unique, cool experience.

Here's a peek at my 20-week belly!

In other family news... it has rained almost daily for the last 2 weeks (in fact, it is raining as I type), making it hard for Barry to make progress on the yard projects. We also took this past weekend off from chores to play on the water because Saturday and Sunday afternoon offered a break in the weather. No regrets! We'll be back at the project and baby preparation activities this weekend.

Have a great rest of your week everyone!

1/2 Way!

19 weeks into this journey and we are slightly over 1/2 way to delivery!  The boys are the size of heirloom tomatoes or large mangos.  At my check-in with the perinatal specialist last week, I had an extensive anatomy scan and both babies weighed-in at 8 oz each and look healthy in all ways they can review. The previa is fully cleared at this point, which is a huge relief! My only complaint is a persistent pain in my left, front abdomen. Best I can tell is they are ligament pains, but I have a call into Dr. Medlock just make sure he agrees.

My appetite is in full swing! I'm trying to make healthy eating and resting choices, but it's not easy when everything looks so tasty!!

In preparation news, I have a few onesies in the closet for the boys now and their registry is complete. I have ordered their cribs and the mattresses and bedding have arrived. We also received our first gift!

Summer is in high gear around here now :).  Ryleigh had her last day of Kindergarten last week and is off to a hodge-podge of summer camps and fun activities.  She also capped-off her gymnastics season (she's doing so well and is so strong!) and first year of ballet with a lovely recital.

Last, but certainly not least, was our trip to Disney!  What a blast!!!  Watching the girls enjoy all the characters, rides and yummy treats made my heart happy.  It was a wonderful way to start-off the summer and enjoy some quality family time before we grow to a party of 6.

Y'all have a fabulous week! ((Hugs))
