The boys are each approximately the size of a head of lettuce. I can tell they've grown... I have felt hiccups for both babies, and their kicking is really strong now. They both react strongly when I eat pad thai - I assume that's approval ;). I can feel movements from my hip bones up to my ribs.
In week 26, I visited the perinatal specialist for a check-up and everything looks good! Each boy was measuring the same (which is strange) at 2lbs 2oz (87% for growth) - grow babies grow! The only challenge we identified is that I was dehydrated. I had no idea!! Going forward, I have to drink a gallon of water a day, at a minimum. So far, I'm getting close, but I know I need to crank-up the intake even more.
Then, that afternoon, I had an ambiguous pain... and my doctors take pain seriously... I ended up at L&D for monitoring after book club for 3 hours. Fortunately, we were able to find a sitter at 9pm who was willing to stay late... All was fine, as expected, so we stopped at Whataburger on the way home at 1am for cheeseburgers and fries LOL.
Last week, I took a driving trip to Jacksonville for training where I stayed with Barry's cousin and his lovely family. I got some baby snuggles with my "niece" and loved every second of it! Then, I came home to a 2 year old with a viral fever and a 6 year old with lice...
Barry was excited to do something different this week. His friend invited him to a Porsche driving experience where he was able to drive FAST on a racetrack up in Birmingham, AL. He had a fabulous time!!! I spent the evening playing with my kiddos in the rain :).
In other news, we found-out who Ryleigh has as a teacher for first grade and procured all her school supplies. I can't believe there's only 1 week left in our summer!!! To celebrate, we are going to do a 2-night getaway next weekend, right before school starts. Looking forward to that!
My only recent complaint is ankle swelling for the first time yesterday. My next doc appointment is with Dr. Medlock this week, so I'm excited to see how much the boys have grown and check-in on how I'm doing.
