It has been a few weeks and so much has happened... where to begin...
Let's start with the twins because that makes the most sense - this is their blog after all! We are 16 weeks along in this journey, and both babies are approximately 5 inches long and the size of avocados.
I had an unexpected ultrasound at 14 weeks where I was surprised to learn the gender of Baby B with 99% certainty and the gender of Baby A with 85% certainty. I have another ultrasound check-in on Wednesday this week, and I'm hoping to get confirmation so we can share with everyone at Libby's birthday party this coming weekend. Here's an attempt at getting a picture of them both together, but as they grow, it's getting trickier.
I had some bleeding after my 14 week appointment thanks to the pap and my doctor almost sent me to the hospital. Fortunately, it stopped just in time. Since then, I haven't had many issues - just the occasional bout of nausea/vomiting, but I haven't needed any zofran. Score!
We received our 1st trimester genetic screening results and both babies are in the lowest risk categories. No more genetic testing for the babies! Now that I am confident that they're healthy and growing well and have an idea about the twins' genders, I'm starting to think more about names and nursery decor. I'm looking forward to doing most of the preparation in June and July.
The twins aren't the only ones doing some amazing things! Ryleigh is kicking Kindergarten's booty and testing off the charts. Libby had her first potty success and is getting ready to move-up to the next classroom at her pre-school. Rookie found his way onto the roof - twice, so we had to barricade the steps up to the deck so he can't continue to run around up there ((eye roll)). Also, Barry has been working hard on installing a fence along the dock and putting rock in the flower beds. I'll share pictures when the projects are done.
And lastly, we had a wonderful Mother's Day weekend. I took Friday and Monday off of work so I could enjoy time with friends and family. Friday was Adult Skip Day on the water where a bunch of friends get our kiddos off to school and then skip-out on work to play on the boats. So fun! Then, we had a wonderful weekend my Dad and Joy. I love spending time with them and watching them play with my girls. Ryleigh and Libby were SO excited to spend all weekend playing with their grandparents on the water and at the beach. Though I don't love the goodbye after our visits, my heart is always left so full and happy!
To cap-off Mother's Day, I was spoiled with gifts from my girls and listening to the twins' heartbeats with my doppler at home.
Whew! I think we're all caught-up now. Have a wonderful week everyone!
